Academy Information
The College
CCI The Renaissance School offers a high standard academic curriculum leading to admission into U.S., Canadian and European universities. It is located in Lanciano, a successfully modernized town of Abruzzo region originally founded over 30 centuries ago, on the Adriatic Sea in the foothills of the Apennine mountains. Students from across Canada, the USA and Europe attend CCI to study and obtain high school credits in a culturally rich environment. The College enrollment now normally exceeds one hundred, as steadily increasing numbers of students have found the experience academically rewarding and personally enriching.
In response to popular demand, CCI offers summer academic credits on campus during the months of July and August. The environment is safe, friendly and totally charming. Faculty live in the same residences as the students and monitor their academic progress and extra-curricular activities.
Academic Credits
The courses offered at Summer Academy Italy conform to the accreditation guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training. These credits may be applied towards a high school diploma at institutions throughout North America and abroad. Courses are offered in the third and fourth year (grade 11 and 12) of the Ontario Secondary School Program. Out-of-province schools will normally offer equivalent credits in their respective jurisdictions.
All students should consult with the guidance office at their current school before registering with the program to ensure that the course selected is appropriate and that the student has the required prerequisite for that level of study. Upon successful completion of the program, a copy of the course results and a transcript will be sent to each student.
Timetable
Classes are held Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition to class instruction, students will have time to study, participate in extra-curricular activities, and enjoy day excursions to major Italian tourist/historic places.
The Faculty
The courses are taught by certified teachers who are all enthusiastic about their subject and teach it with passion and pride. The school community is very close since students and staff work, eat and travel on excursions together. Faculty is available after classes for extra tutoring.
The Students
Students register from every province across Canada, the United States and Europe.
